Programs for Preschoolers Ages 3-5
Sunday Mornings at Northwest
Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures
Parents should drop off their preschoolers with the teachers at the registration table in the Preschool Suite in the Education Building. All preschoolers are given a security tag, with a corresponding tag given to the parent. Parents must present this tag when picking up their preschooler. If your family attends both services, your preschooler will be escorted to his or her appropriate second service class by the preschool teachers. If your preschooler should need you during the worship service, your tag number will appear on the screen in the sanctuary, alerting you that you are needed in the Preschool Suite.
First Service 9:00 – 10:15
Sunday School classes for children ages 3-5 are offered every week during the first worship service in the Preschool Suite in the Education Building. Children have the opportunity to create crafts, hear a Bible story, eat a snack and play!
Preschool Music and Movement 10:15 – 10:40
All preschoolers have the opportunity to participate in music and movement each week during the transition time between services. The preschoolers learn Christian songs and play active games while the first and second service teachers transition in their respective classrooms.
Second Service 10:40 – Noon
Sunday School classes for children in 5K are offered every week during the second worship service in the Preschool Suite. Our Kindergarteners have the opportunity to participate in structured learning centers where they will create crafts, learn a Bible verse, hear a Bible story, or play games – all to learn more about God’s love for them! Our 3 and 4 year olds are lovingly cared for in the Preschool Suite, where they participate in age-appropriate activities and structured play. All children are given a snack during the second worship service time.
A Word about Snacks
The Children’s Team strives to provide healthy snacks for the children at Northwest. As a part of this effort, we want to provide more fresh fruit for our children on Sunday mornings. In order to better accomplish this goal, a sign-up sheet is provided in the Preschool Suite if your family would like to provide fruit for a given Sunday school hour.
Wednesday Evenings at Northwest
AWANA
AWANA is a para-church ministry that, for the past sixty years, has helped more than 17,000 churches and millions of parents worldwide raise children to know, love, and serve Christ. AWANA is a club where kids are introduced to the Gospel, challenged to grow in their faith, and encouraged to learn Bible verses. Kids wear uniforms and get to earn patches for them. They also get to play fun community building games. During the school year, AWANA is offered every Wednesday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 at Northwest. The Sparks (K5-2nd grade) meet in the Fellowship Hall in the lower level below the sanctuary. Parents should drop off and pick up their kindergarteners there. The Cubbies (3 year olds – 4K) meet in the Preschool Suite in the Education Building. Parents should pick up and drop off their preschoolers there.
