LIFE Groups
Small Groups that meet in our members’ homes during the week are called L.I.F.E. Groups. This acronym stands for “Living In Faith Everyday,” a commitment that these in-home small groups strive to help each other achieve. Meeting weekly, or every other week, in the relaxed and inviting environment of a host’s home, participants:
- Enjoy getting to know each other better
- Study God’s word
- Plan service projects that they will do together as a group outside of the walls of the church
Participants are encouraged to invite friends and family that might not yet feel comfortable coming to church to join them at their LIFE Group gathering.
This ministry is designed to help the members of Northwest share the message and love of Christ more effectively and intentionally with the people in their lives, while strengthening each participant’s connection to Christ and to each other.
As a part of the Small Group Ministry of Northwest, LIFE Groups determine the subject of their focus and the curriculum the group will use with the help of church leadership. Each group decides when, where, and how often it would like to meet, and whether they will offer childcare or not. LIFE Groups can be very effective at recognizing the gifts and abilities of the group participants by encouraging those within the group to serve in various roles. In addition to having a Discussion Leader and a Host, each LIFE Group is asked to recruit and empower an Apprentice to the Discussion Leader, a Care Coordinator, a Social Coordinator, and an Outreach/Service Coordinator.
