WHAT'S HAPPENING

Community Gathering

In addition to worship services on Sunday morning, we offer a unique way to help you to get to know others at church. We call that way Community. From 9:00 – 10:15 a.m. on Sundays, perhaps while your children are in Nursery or Sunday School classes, you can participate in Community in the Fellowship Hall, on the lower level of our new building addition. Community helps you connect with other people from Northwest on a personal level, make new friends, and have a place to discuss and apply God’s Word. Community feels informal and friendly. Coffee and other refreshments are served.

The aim of Community is to help you grow as a follower of Jesus Christ by welcoming you into a middle-sized group of 25 to 50 people that is larger than in in-home small group (LIFE Group) but smaller than a worship service. In Community a sense of belonging and knowing replaces the feeling of being isolated and alone. Interesting, practical topics are taught and discussed with a goal of seeing the Bible have an impact on our everyday lives.

Other descriptive phrases for community:

  • Community is the Welcome Wagon that helps people connect with other folks in the church.
  • Community is a place we want to see Christ-centered social relationships begin, develop, and grow.
  • Community provides support and care for individuals and families in times of crisis and need.
  • Community helps mobilize the church in outreach and service to the neighborhood and city where we live.

Our Associate Pastor, Fred Oaks, leads Community. A warm welcome awaits you so drop in soon. For further information, contact Pastor Fred at foaks@northwestbaptist.com or at 414-463-3630, extension 92.
