Bible Study
“All scripture is inspired by God…” 2 Timothy 3:16
If the Bible is true, it has absolute claim on our lives. We must not only believe what it teaches, but we must obey what it teaches. Northwest Baptist Church offers opportunities for people of all ages to grow in Christ together by studying and applying God’s word.
The Bible has a magnificent heritage. It has 66 books, written over a period of 1,600 years by more than 30 writers, and yet the message is the same throughout — so clearly that the 66 books are actually one book, uniquely inspired by Almighty God. The message, in every part, is straightforward. No writer changes his message to put his friends in better light. The sins of small and great alike are frankly admitted, and life is presented as it actually is. Yet, through it all, the amazing grace of God is revealed.
You may ask, “What is the message of the Bible?” The message of the Bible is Jesus Christ. The story of the scriptures is the story of our redemption through Jesus Christ. The scriptures teach the death, burial, and ressurection of of Christ. Jeus Christ is the Gospel, which means “Good News!” His death, burial and resurrection is the Gospel story, and without Him we are lost and doomed.
When we accept the Christ of the Bible, God gives us the gift of salvation. Our eternal destiny is secure, and our lives begin to change through the power of the Holy Spirit. When, day-by-day, we apply biblical truth to our lives, we come to know peace of mind, more satisfying relationships, purpose for living, and hope in every situation.
